A Space Adventure

Ebook

Whilst kite-flying one breezy summer's morning on Clapham Common, eleven-year old twins Katie and Chris are kidnapped by gentle aliens and taken to their Mother Ship, orbiting high above Earth.

The youngsters are introduced to their well-meaning captors by means of telepathy, and Katie and Chris discover that the aliens have, amongst other startling powers, a highly-developed healing technology.

The aliens are from the planet Mexta, and, having observed Humankind for some time, their mission is now two-fold: Firstly, they are seeking to understand human emotions and feelings, so that, secondly, they can change human behaviour, and end the enormous waste of Earth's rich, natural resources.

After exploring the many exotic wonders in Satsay, the Mextan Mother Ship, with their guide Sambek, and talking with blue-skinned Sophos the Educator, the twins are drawn into a series of exciting, and frequently hair-raising experiences, as the benevolent Mextans are double-crossed by Splics—dangerous, insect-like clones with great antennae and feelers, who have directed their Vireem drones to attack the ship.

This is the start of Katie and Chris's mind-bending, time-bending, space adventure. Who will win out in this extraterrestrial struggle? Will the Mextan race help humankind? And can the twins get back home in time for dinner?

Book Review

This book relates the exciting and hair-raising adventures had by two eleven-year old twins, Katie and Chris, after they are kidnapped on Clapham Common by friendly aliens from the planet Mexta. The Mextans communicate through telepathy, and explain to the twins that they have been observing Earth for a long time, but needed to understand something of human emotions and feelings. They cannot understand why humankind should be wasting the planet's bountiful natural resources.

Taken to Satsay—the Mextan Mother Ship orbiting high above the Earth—Katie and Chris are introduced to Sambek, who becomes their guide to the many exotic wonders contained within the world of the giant space craft. Whilst speaking with the wise, blue-skinned Sophos the Educator, Satsay is attacked from afar by Vireems—drones, under the control of the Splics onboard the ship—Splics are dangerous, but necessary, insect-like clones in Satsay.

So begins Katie and Chris's mind-bending, time-bending, Space Adventure. The book makes for engaging reading, and features an ingenious array of invented space beings—each with their own codes of morality, and consequently ways of behaving. Younger readers will no doubt identify with one or other of the twins, engage with the book's theme of good versus evil, and will no doubt be in tune with the Mextans' view of humankind—why are we wasting the Earth's natural resources?
